WHAT YOU WILL DO...
This role will be responsible for the delivery of Statutory Accounting & Taxation services to a diverse range of clients ensuring that all tasks are completed in line with agreed procedures, quality and deadlines. This role will support the Office Manager in the management of workload and development of a small team of staff ensuring work is delegated effectively and completed in line with deadlines. Providing technical support and guidance as Trainees progress through their professional qualification. This role will be responsible for a portfolio of key client work and will have full client responsibility.
You will be working as part of an established team and have the opportunity to develop your skills in the longer term.
- Preparation of Accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Preparation of complex self-assessment tax returns
- Preparation of corporation tax computations and returns
- Preparation of and file VAT returns
- Prepare Management Accounts
- Advising on Business plans and / or cashflow forecasts
- Bank Reconciliation
- Post journal entries
- Assist with payroll runs
- Accounting software training for clients
- Liaising with clients where necessary
- Supervising and training junior staff members.
- Communication with HMRC in relation to client taxation matters
TO BE SUCCESSFUL, YOU WILL NEED;
- Qualified or Part Qualified Accountant status (ACCA or CIMA part qualification or AAT qualification)
- SCQF Level 9 qualification in relevant subject an advantage
- Post qualifying experience, working within an Accountancy Practice
- In depth knowledge of FRS102 and a good understanding of UK Tax system, including personal tax, VAT etc.
- Ability to take ownership of workload management and be accountable to the client.
- Enthusiastic with a willingness to resolve issues and ensure technical accuracy
- Excellent communication skills with ability to engage with staff and clients at all levels.
- Good people management skills specifically: delegation, nurturing, training and management of workloads.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong computer skills (Quickbooks, Xero, SAGE and advanced Excel skills)
